On 9 August, South Africa pauses to celebrate Women’s Day, and while the history behind it is powerful, today we’re keeping things light, lovely, and full of laughter. Because let’s be honest: women are the heartbeat of our homes, the glue in our workplaces, and the secret sauce in our communities. And they deserve a whole lot of love.
Moms: The Original Multitaskers
Whether she’s packing lunch, solving a maths problem, negotiating bedtime treaties, or running her own business while doing all of the above – moms are basically superheroes in sneakers. They don’t wear capes (unless it’s a towel post-shower), but they do save the day. Every. Single. Day.
So today, we raise our coffee mugs (and maybe a cheeky glass of bubbly later) to the moms who make magic out of chaos.
Women at Work: Masters of the Juggle
From boardrooms to classrooms, salons to construction sites, South African women bring grit, grace, and a touch of flair to everything they do. They’re the ones who remember birthdays, fix the printer jam, and still manage to meet deadlines with a smile.
Let’s celebrate the women who lead with kindness, hustle with heart, and make the workplace feel like a second home.
Sisters, Friends, Aunties & Gogo’s: The Cheerleaders of Life
You know that friend who sends you memes at midnight? Or the auntie who insists you take leftovers home? Or the Gogo who tells stories that make you laugh and cry at the same time? These women are the soul of our social circles – the ones who lift us up, call us out (lovingly), and remind us of who we are.
Today’s for them too. The everyday cheerleaders who make life brighter.
A Toast to You
To every woman reading this: thank you for being you. For the quiet strength, the loud laughter, the gentle wisdom, and the fierce love. You are seen, celebrated, and deeply appreciated.
Happy Women’s Day, South Africa from the Falcon team! May your day be filled with joy, and at least one moment where someone else shows appreciation for you being you!
